Rain and “colder” weather finally arrived in San Francisco. After the unusually high temperatures in October, November showed up with heavy clouds and showers.
Fortunately, the rain didn’t start until the evening, which gave us the opportunity to bid farewell to the nice dry weather at the Off The Grid final picnic at the Presidio.
Although it was a little cloudy, the park was filled with families, friends and couples that came for the final picnic in the park before the rainy season begins.
After we picked up some delicious food from the many food trucks there, we laid our blanket on the grass and took out our ice cold wine. We poured ourselves a glass as we munched our yummy food.
We started our meal with a delicious pizza fresh out of the wood-fired oven. The crust, so crispy and charred, was the perfect pairing with our Canadian wine, which we picked up from a trip last year to Niagara region, south of Toronto.
After we demolished the whole pizza, R got us some sinfully delicious fried chicken! Crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside, it was perfectly cooked.
It was getting a little cold by then, which made it perfect for a hot cup of latte and delicious donuts balls dipped in chocolate ganache.
We were having such a great time, being outdoors, surrounded by happy people and beautiful dogs!
We laid down on our blanket, hands in the grass and looking up the cloudy sky, laughing and chit-chatting. After almost 4 hours, a full tummy and a happy soul, it was starting to get a little too cold for comfort. People were packing their things and leaving and so did we.
Even though winter in the Bay Area is extremely mild, it was nice having a meal in the park while we still can!
