Labor Day weekend is usually filled with festivals, food and fun. And this one was no different.
On Saturday, R & I went to the Lebanese festival in Redwood City for some nostalgic food (we are both Lebanese).
We got there around lunch time, so we quickly grabbed some great food. Tabbouli, hummus, falafel, Lebanese spinach pie, sambousek, and chicken shawarma were all on the menu, and we got them all! We also got some Almaza, a delicious Lebanese beer.
We grabbed our plate and sat down to eat while watching the Lebanese youth doing the “dabke”, the Lebanese traditional dance. Then grabbed some dessert to end the day on the sweet side …
The next day (Sunday), we headed north to Berkley, for the Brazilian Day Street Party. As soon as we arrived, the music was loud, the food smelled great and everyone was dancing and enjoying themselves.
This singer was so amazing and so energetic, she was getting everyone excited. The whole crowd, from kids to seniors, was dancing!
After a long session of salsa dancing (or pretending to salsa) we were hungry and ready for some delicious Brazilian food.
There were many options to choose from, but we decided on some traditional Brazilian and African food, which were absolutely delicious.
After food, we strolled down through the many vendor’s stalls selling beautiful Brazilian clothes and accessories. I had to stop and try some hats on.
After a full Brazilian day, we headed back to San Francisco, but first ice cream from “iScream” in Berkley. It was the best ice cream I’ve ever had honestly!
We even found Waldo there!
Later we ended the day in San Francisco at our favorite Martini Bar… Blondies!
I hope you guys had an incredible Labor Day weekend with your loved ones and don’t forget to follow the blog!
